Putin and his Commissioner of Children’s Rights are wanted for allegedly deporting children from Ukraine to Russia

The Hague, Netherlands – The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Commissioner of Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, for allegedly committing the war crimes of transporting children from Ukraine to Russia.

An ICC judge signed the order for the warrant, but the country of Russia does not fall under the ICC jurisdiction. Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, issued a statement saying, “have no meaning for the Russian Federation” and “are legally null and void.”

Not only Russia, but the United States, China, and many other countries are not under the Rome statute that the ICC is governed by.
